Phasmophobia: Night of the Blood Moon Guide

Phasmophobia Crimson Eye Update Blood Moon Guide

Nothing says Halloween like diving head-first into a cursed event in Phasmophobia. And this year’s update, Crimson Eye, introduces the Night of the Blood Moon event and is not pulling any punches. Expect haunted horrors dialed up to eleven, rewards worthy of the brave, and a moon so red it’ll feel like it’s staring into the depths of your very soul.

Whether you’re a veteran ghostbuster or a newbie who doesn’t know their EMF from their EVP, this guide’s got you covered while this event goes from today till it ends on November 13th!

The Blood Moon Rises: What You Need to Know

Welcome to Night of the Blood Moon – a Halloween event so terrifying, it’s already earned a spot in Phasmophobia history. So, what’s different this time around? In short, everything.

Phasmophobia Halloween Update Blood Moon Rises

The Blood Moon isn’t just looming overhead for funsies; it sets a spine-chilling tone, intensifies ghost activity, and adds a layer of menacing ambiance that even veteran players might find unnerving. And yes, that red glow means the ghosts are more ruthless than ever!

What’s new?

  • Blood Moon Visuals: Expect your night vision to be tested as the eerie red glow disrupts your usual clarity.
  • Increased Paranormal Activity: Just when you thought your last hunt was manageable, this update kicks up the aggression.
  • Special Event Triggers: Certain paranormal weather only happens during the event, making them a rare (and awesome) sight.

Making it Out Alive: How to Complete the Blood Moon Event

In the Phasmophobia: Night of the Blood Moon event, every ghost hunt counts. But if you’re serious about hitting those shared goals, you’ll need to go beyond just showing up. Here’s your guide to nailing down the points and boosting those objectives:

Phasmophobia Halloween Update Blood Moon Event Board

  1. Identify Ghosts Correctly
The big-ticket item here is precision ghost ID. The more often you correctly identify each map’s ghastly guest, the faster you’ll stack up points. To play it smart, gather evidence early, consult your journal (no skipping steps!), and keep everyone in the loop about any behaviors that might be clues. It’s pretty much Phasmo 101, but the more ghosts you get right, the faster those Blood Moon numbers add up.
  2. Complete Optional Objectives
Don’t just stop at ghost-hunting basics; you’re here to sweep the board! Optional objectives, from snapping ghost photos to escaping during a hunt, are like event bonus points. Each completed objective not only edges you closer to maxing out points but also shows off your skills in front of your friends (and teammates who can keep up). Treat these extras as mandatory if you’re serious about boosting your event score.
  3. Photograph Totems You Find
Blood Moon’s event twist? Creepy totems sprinkled throughout the maps. Whenever you spot one, whip out your camera and snap a shot. These are more than just haunting decor; they’re key to racking up points, so keep an eye out in every dark corner, attic, or basement for that eerie glow. A totem photo is your guaranteed event booster, so listen for their otherworldly hum and don’t leave the map without capturing as many as possible!

What’s in It for You? The Blood Moon Event Rewards

If you’ve stuck around Phasmophobia long enough, you know that devs love to make events worth your while. This Halloween, they’ve gone big with the reward pool. Here’s what’s up for grabs for players who conquer the Blood Moon’s challenges:

  • Exclusive Blood Moon ID Card: Because what’s a spooky game without some exclusive seasonal drip? Show off to your fellow ghost hunters that you survived the Blood Moon with this limited badge.
  • Upgraded Blood Moon ID Card: Nice? Although, if all participants are getting the same badges – it takes a bit of the “exclusivity appeal” away for me.
  • Blood Moon Trophy: Equip your collection with hauntingly good new trophy that brings your trophy stand more in line with the season’s vibe. Yes, it’s for cosmetics, but who doesn’t want to rock that?
  • Blood Moon Weather Post Event: I’m not 100% positive, but I’m pretty sure this means that we’ll have a (likely low) chance to encounter this amazingly eerie Blood Moon weather, even after the event as long as we’ve hit Stage 3 rewards.
  • Bonus Cash & XP: Completing all event challenges under the Blood Moon grants a significant boost to both XP and cash. It’s a shortcut for those looking to upgrade their gear and skills so if you’ve been taking a siesta on Phasmo, it’s a great tool for catching up.

Honestly, I’m not really the biggest fan of this “Helldivers-esque” community participation and reward system, but I’m also not going to complain…for now at least.

Haunted Grounds: Which Maps to Tackle in Night of the Blood Moon

If you’re hunting down every spectral anomaly in Phasmophobia’s Blood Moon event, you’ll want to focus your ghost-busting skills on four specific maps. Completing your event tasks relies on ticking off a few rounds at each of these terrifying locations. Here’s what you’re dealing with:

42 Edgefield Road

This suburban haunt is one of the classics, complete with narrow hallways and rooms that seem custom-built for jump scares. Expect tight spaces where the ghost has fewer places to hide, which means it’s usually right there… in your face. Perfect for those who enjoy being chased up and down stairs while struggling to turn off their flashlights.

13 Willow Street

13 Willow Street Phasmophobia Blood Moon Update

Another cozy nightmare location, Willow Street has all the trappings of a traditional haunted house. With the addition of Blood Moon’s eerie lighting, Willow Street transforms from a regular scare to something out of your worst horror flick. Stick together or get ready to sprint solo down to the garage or basement areas.

Grafton Farmhouse

Grafton Farmhouse Phasmophobia Blood Moon Update

One of my personal favorites, Grafton Farmhouse combines rural vibes with ominous creaks, and now, Blood Moon energy. You’ll face terrifying open spaces and darkened rooms that feel practically prehistoric.

These maps are prime territory for filling up your event completion bar, so I consider this my go-to haunting grounds for this update. Just remember, each one has unique quirks, so plan your strategy accordingly and keep your sanity in check.

Point Hope

Point Hope Phasmophobia Blood Moon Update

The game’s latest addition, Point Hope has a different energy entirely—think of it as the “surprisingly vertical” location. This area is pretty linear, giving you a chance to easily and systematically search each level although I swear 90% of the time the ghost is at the top level, laughing to itself as each time I have to get more equipment I drop 15% sanity by the time I get back.

Don’t forget to open up that door to the outside on the very top floor, as I’ve seen the Moon Totems spawn outside that area quite frequently.

10 Tips and Tricks to Surviving the Blood Moon

Now that you’re prepped on the basics, let’s get into some seasoned strategies. Here’s a fun and funderful list of 10 tips and tricks to ensure you don’t end up as ghost bait during the event:

Phasmophobia Halloween Update Tips and Tricks Blood Moon Guide

  1. Mind the Sound: Ghosts in this event are particularly attuned to sounds. Keep those whispers to a minimum, and if you’re hunted, avoid clinking objects, tapping, or accidentally speaking over the mic.
  2. Use Environmental Clues: Ghosts will trigger subtle environmental changes, like flickering lights or moving objects while the Moon Totems will glow and emit a unique humming sound. Keep your eyes and ears peeled – these cues might just save your skin.
  3. Sacrifice Isn’t the End: If you get taken out, use it as a chance to scout the map for your team. As a ghost, you can still help out and give strategic advice (but be careful not to talk too much – ghosts can hear even from beyond).
  4. Stay Cool During Hunts: When a hunt begins, the temptation to sprint is real, but it’ll just get you caught faster when you run out of stamina. Move slowly and keep breathing – panic gets you killed.
  5. Prioritize Objectives Over Exploration: The Blood Moon isn’t the time to admire the scenery. Get in, find your evidence, complete the objectives, and get out. There are more hunts here, and wandering aimlessly will only make you ghost bait.
  6. Gear Up – This update emphasizes gear management. Crucifixes, salt, and motion sensors are your best friends. Stack up your loadout with the essentials to manage the ghosts’ increased aggression.
  7. Prepare the Space – Before you start the investigation, get a feel for the map. Set up motion sensors around choke points and lay down salt where ghost activity tends to spike. Every room counts in this event.
  8. Handle the Hunts – When the ghost starts hunting, don’t just run aimlessly. Stick to well-documented hiding spots (closets, lockers, or rooms with doors). Ghosts will get trickier here, doubling back and listening for noise, so keep quiet.
  9. Complete Event Objectives – The Blood Moon comes with extra objectives that change per hunt. Successfully completing these will boost your rewards and allow for some epic bragging rights.
  10. Close Out Carefully – Once all objectives are met, and the ghost type is identified, make a safe exit. The Blood Moon doesn’t give bonus points for heroics – just get out in one piece.
