Nothing says Halloween like diving head-first into a cursed event in Phasmophobia. And this year’s update, Crimson Eye, introduces the Night of the Blood Moon event and is not pulling any punches. Expect haunted horrors dialed up to eleven, rewards worthy of the brave, and a moon so red it’ll feel like it’s staring into the depths of your very soul.
Whether you’re a veteran ghostbuster or a newbie who doesn’t know their EMF from their EVP, this guide’s got you covered while this event goes from today till it ends on November 13th!
Welcome to Night of the Blood Moon – a Halloween event so terrifying, it’s already earned a spot in Phasmophobia history. So, what’s different this time around? In short, everything.
The Blood Moon isn’t just looming overhead for funsies; it sets a spine-chilling tone, intensifies ghost activity, and adds a layer of menacing ambiance that even veteran players might find unnerving. And yes, that red glow means the ghosts are more ruthless than ever!
What’s new?
In the Phasmophobia: Night of the Blood Moon event, every ghost hunt counts. But if you’re serious about hitting those shared goals, you’ll need to go beyond just showing up. Here’s your guide to nailing down the points and boosting those objectives:
If you’ve stuck around Phasmophobia long enough, you know that devs love to make events worth your while. This Halloween, they’ve gone big with the reward pool. Here’s what’s up for grabs for players who conquer the Blood Moon’s challenges:
Honestly, I’m not really the biggest fan of this “Helldivers-esque” community participation and reward system, but I’m also not going to complain…for now at least.
If you’re hunting down every spectral anomaly in Phasmophobia’s Blood Moon event, you’ll want to focus your ghost-busting skills on four specific maps. Completing your event tasks relies on ticking off a few rounds at each of these terrifying locations. Here’s what you’re dealing with:
This suburban haunt is one of the classics, complete with narrow hallways and rooms that seem custom-built for jump scares. Expect tight spaces where the ghost has fewer places to hide, which means it’s usually right there… in your face. Perfect for those who enjoy being chased up and down stairs while struggling to turn off their flashlights.
Another cozy nightmare location, Willow Street has all the trappings of a traditional haunted house. With the addition of Blood Moon’s eerie lighting, Willow Street transforms from a regular scare to something out of your worst horror flick. Stick together or get ready to sprint solo down to the garage or basement areas.
One of my personal favorites, Grafton Farmhouse combines rural vibes with ominous creaks, and now, Blood Moon energy. You’ll face terrifying open spaces and darkened rooms that feel practically prehistoric.
These maps are prime territory for filling up your event completion bar, so I consider this my go-to haunting grounds for this update. Just remember, each one has unique quirks, so plan your strategy accordingly and keep your sanity in check.
The game’s latest addition, Point Hope has a different energy entirely—think of it as the “surprisingly vertical” location. This area is pretty linear, giving you a chance to easily and systematically search each level although I swear 90% of the time the ghost is at the top level, laughing to itself as each time I have to get more equipment I drop 15% sanity by the time I get back.
Don’t forget to open up that door to the outside on the very top floor, as I’ve seen the Moon Totems spawn outside that area quite frequently.
Now that you’re prepped on the basics, let’s get into some seasoned strategies. Here’s a fun and funderful list of 10 tips and tricks to ensure you don’t end up as ghost bait during the event:
In the end, the Night of the Blood Moon event isn’t just another update – it’s Phasmophobia at its most twisted. With increased aggression, blood-red visuals, and exclusive event rewards, it’s a horror lover’s Halloween dream.
Embrace the eerie visuals, tackle each objective like your life depends on it (because it does), and don’t forget to drop a little attitude along with the crucifix. So grab your friends, load up that equipment, and prepare for a haunting that won’t let up until the sun rises on November 14th.
And remember: the only thing scarier than the ghosts is missing out on this event!
